Have you ever been a little envious of women who seem to sail through life-cycle changes – fertility, pregnancy, pre- and post- menopause – so easily, whilst others seem to succumb to emotional and physiological challenges that cause dis-ease? Don’t you ever wish you could have what they are having? Well now you can thanks to modern advances in understanding long term healthy aging.
Weight gain, fretful nights, sweats or flushes, dry skin, feeling tired and low libido are all cries the body is giving you for help. They are telling you that your hormones – oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone - are out of balance. Partly this is natural aging that begins in your 30s and continuing to 70s and beyond but partly this is due to modern life – what we eat, how we exercise and how we cope with the frenetic pace and stress of everyday living.
Women have more of a choice than ever before about how to manage lifecycle changes more harmoniously. This is because there have been major advances in the science of long-term healthy aging and in understanding how to deal with weight, energy and the causes and consequences of hormonal imbalance.
Yehudi Gordon (Gynaecologist): What are bio-identical hormones (BHRT), why are they necessary for positive aging, how do they work to prevent ill health, how are they different from conventional HRT and are they affordable?
Alison Belcourt (Nutritionist): What are the latest advances in understanding the relationship between nutrition and hormonal balance?
Carole Murray (Hypnotherapist) will answer questions from the floor about how to change habits and patterns through new techniques like EDMR.
